Commercial portfolio

Four core varieties, contract-defined quality.

The bands below are practical export screening targets—not universal statutory grades. Final acceptance follows the signed specification, approved sample, agreed test method and inspection result.

Regular Sourcing · Crop & Mill Availability

PK 1121 Aromatic Basmati

Trade family
1121 Kainat · extra-long aromatic
Processing
White · Steam · Golden / White Sella

Premium extra-long grain selected for aroma, cooked elongation, separate texture and high-end retail or food-service programs. Crop, age, milling degree and final lot specification are agreed before shipment.

Regular Sourcing · Crop & Mill Availability

Super Basmati

Trade family
Registered Pakistani Basmati variety
Processing
White · Steam · Brown where available

Classic aromatic Basmati valued for taste, soft cooked texture and traditional presentation. Only eligible origin, variety and GI-compliant lots may be represented as Pakistani Basmati.

Regular Sourcing · Crop & Mill Availability

IRRI-9

Trade family
Fine non-Basmati long grain
Processing
White · Parboiled

A cost-efficient, slender non-Basmati option for wholesale, catering and volume retail. Grain length, broken percentage, polish and whiteness are supplied against an approved sample and contract.

Regular Sourcing · Crop & Mill Availability

IRRI-6

Trade family
Coarse non-Basmati
Processing
White · Parboiled · Broken options

A robust volume grade for bulk-cooking and price-sensitive markets. 5%, 10%, 25% and fully broken programs may be evaluated subject to crop, mill and lot availability.

Basmati identity: Basmati is a protected geographical indication in Pakistan. The GI specification provides a baseline—including minimum pre-cooked grain length, elongation and sensory characteristics—but the higher variety-specific commercial targets shown here must still be agreed lot by lot.

Indicative quality schedule

Buyer specification controls the lot

These trade bands help frame an inquiry. Sample, crop year, milling and polishing level, basis of calculation, sampling plan and inspection agency must be identical when results are compared.

AGL means average grain length before cooking. Exact limits, tolerances and analytical methods form part of the sales contract; a generated web table is not a certificate of analysis.

Export logistics & documentation

From approved mill to destination market.

AGE coordinates packing, documents and shipment against the buyer's destination rules. Independent quality inspection and government phytosanitary certification are separate functions.

Indicative load & packing

20 ft FCLApprox. 24–25 MT

Final payload depends on bag size, container limits and carrier acceptance. Retail/private-label packs may include 1, 2, 5, 10 or 20 kg; bulk programs commonly use 25, 40 or 50 kg PP or jute bags, subject to availability.

Inspection & documents

  • Quality / weight: buyer-approved SGS, Cotecna, Intertek or another agreed inspector
  • Phytosanitary: issued by Pakistan's Department of Plant Protection under destination requirements
  • Shipment file: B/L, origin, packing, quality and treatment documents as applicable

Commercial basis

FOB Karachi / Port Qasim and suitable CFR or CIF destination offers can be evaluated. Payment may be an irrevocable L/C at sight or a mutually agreed T/T schedule, including a 50/50 structure where accepted. Lead time is confirmed per crop, mill, packing and vessel schedule.

AGE rice export desk

Send the exact rice requirement.

Share variety, white / steam / Sella process, broken percentage, moisture, crop or aging preference, quantity, pack size, private-label artwork status, destination port and required certificates. AGE will review mill availability, sample, quality controls, documents and shipment terms before issuing an offer.

Classification note: Pakistan's FY 2025–26 tariff lists semi-milled or wholly milled Basmati rice under PCT 1006.3010, other semi-milled or wholly milled rice under 1006.3090, and broken rice under 1006.4000. The tariff's customs-duty column concerns that schedule and must not be read as a blanket export-tax statement. Pakistan export treatment and destination import duties, taxes, permits and controls are shipment-specific and must be checked before contracting.

GI and compliance note: “Pakistani Basmati” must satisfy eligible variety, geographical origin and applicable GI requirements. AGE does not represent every lot as certified for every country; buyer-market food-safety, labelling and certificate requirements are documented in the contract.
